District 1 – Ho Chi Minh City

District 1 is the financial and commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City. On a visit to Saigon you could spend all your time in District 1 only. There are many interesting things to discover, you surely will spend the majority of your time here.
Besides the buildings built by Vietnamese people, there are some famous building in District 1 was designed by French architects during their rule. Some others were built by many other ethnics. Those buildings create the unique as well as the rich scenes for here. Notable attractions in Saigon’s District 1 include Saigon Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Central Post Office, Independence Palace, National History Museum, Jamia Al Muslimin Mosque, Mariamman Hindu Temple and the tallest building in Vietnam, Bitexco Tower. Conveniently, almost all of HCMC’s five star hotels are in District 1: New World Hotel, Rex Hotel, Caravelle Hotel. + Ben Thanh market:
Built in 1870 by the French, the market was initially called Les Halles Centrales before being renamed Ben Thanh in 1912. In the morning, you can find almost everything from dry food, raw food to clothes; however, you have to bid for a reasonable price. In most of time, the market is always crowded so its atmosphere is a real hustle and bustle. From late afternoon until late night, the shops inside the market are closed, but several shops are open outside on the surrounding streets which called “The night market”. This night market can offer you a variety of choices: seafood, grills, teas, coffees, and also clothes and shoes, etc.
+ Independence Palace
In 1868, Independence Palace was placed the first stone by French to mark the ground-breaking of the construction of Norodom Palace. After the Geneva Treaty was signed, the Palace was handed over to PM Ngo Dinh Diem, who changed its named to Doc Lap Palace (Independence Palace). Now, it’s also called Thong Nhat Hall. Nearly 150 years have passed, Thong Nhat Hall is an agency managed by the Government Office. It serves sightseers and hosts both domestic and international conferences.

+ Notre-Dame Cathedral
The Cathedral is located at the Paris Square, right in the heart of HCM City downtown, attracting not only Catholics but also most tourists for its style architecture. Apart from the religious meaning, the even more special point of Notre-Dame Cathedral is its special style of architecture. Established by French colonists, the cathedral was built between 1863 and 1880. In front of the cathedral is a statue of the Virgin Mary. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of over 58 meters. During its construction, all its red bricks were imported from Marseilles and colored glass windows made in France’s Chartres Province, France.

+ Saigon Central Post Office
Saigon Central Post Office is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral. Saigon Central Post Office was designed and constructed began in 1886 and was completed in 1891. It has a neoclassical architectural style in harmony with the surrounding area. If you are interested in sending a postcard, the center counter has plenty of postcard packs at fairly good prices.

Da Lat City

Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong Province, Vietnam; apart from Ho Chi Minh City 300km. The city is located 1500m above the sea level on the Lam Vien Plateau in the southern parts of the Central Highlands region; its total area is 394.65km2.
Da Lat is a popular tourist destination in Vietnam. Being a beautiful city, it’s favored called with many graceful names such as “City of thousands of pine trees”, “City of thousands of flowers”, “City of fog”, “City of cherry blossom” or “Little Paris”.
Traffic in the city is so easy; it’s known as a city without lights traffic. You can travel by bicycle, tandem, horse cart, bus or motorbike. There are many places around town to rent those vehicles.
Some attracting stops:
• The most famous place of the city is Ho Xuan Huong Lake. The lake is at centre of town. It is one of the main draws of Da Lat. Boats can be rented on both sides of the lake.
• Colonial Palaces: The three palaces and summer home of the colonial era, last emperor of Vietnam Bao Dai, which is of great interest once you visit these three heritage sites, named Palace I, II and III.
• Crazy House is a striking, but it not-quite-finished fantasy house.
• Dalat Market, it is filled with local specialties: strawberry jam, fruit conserves, avocado, artichokes.
• Flower Garden is at the northwestern end of Xuan Huong Lake. A set of flower gardens centre around a reconstructed traditional Vietnamese teak wood house.
• The Lake of Sorrow is a common destination in Da Lat. The Lake of Sorrow is so-named because of a tale of two lovers, one who committed suicide after the other was called up to serve in the army.
• Langbiang Mountain. The 1,900 m peak is reachable by a steep paved path, ideal for a 3 hour hike, or you can ride in a Jeep. Also visit the ethnic village at the foot of the mountain.
• Nha Tho Domaine de Marie is a pink church on top of a hill, with a store selling various dried fruits and snacks from the local orchards run by the nuns of the monastery.
• Prenn Falls is a very common stop. Prenn Falls is quite beautiful, but is a lot more fun when you’re hiking it than just taking pictures of it.
• Thien Vien Truc Lam Monastery. The monastery has a magnificent view over the dams below and its gardens are full of landscaped shrubs in animal form. It’s an extremely peaceful, a great place to relax and soak in the tranquility.
• Valley of Love is another common stop in Dalat and is very popular with honeymooners. The Valley of Love is also a great spot for shooting.
• Tea and coffee hills in Cau Dat Valley is popular for travelers. It’s better to visit in harvest time, when you can enjoy the entire beauty of scenery.

Cat Tien National Park

Cat Tien National Park is an important national park located in the south of Vietnam, approximately 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. Pursuant to the standards of UNESCO, Cat Tien has been recognized as the biosphere reserve in the world. It has an area of about 720 km² and protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam. It is a truly wild place and you can see many animals in the wild. Cat Tien National Park is estimated as the reserve of natural resources in Vietnam with lots of rare, specious and endemic genes.

Binh Quoi Tourism Village I

 

Binh Quoi Tourist Village I is a tourist attraction in the Bình Thạnh District of Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Vietnam. The Binh Quoi Tourist Village I is located by the western north Saigon River, 8km from the centre of Ho Chi Minh City. Covering an area of 34,635 m2, the tourist area, the largest in HCM City, resembles a real village .

This is the city’s biggest resort with its unique scenery which was established in 1994. Fifty-five modern hotel rooms in the trees’ shadows can be rented for visitors who would like a break from the frenetic pace of the city. Its maximum seating capacity is over 4000 people. The Tourist Village is set on garden grounds with lawns, coconut trees, creeks, and thatched cottages, daily scenes activities in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region.
